Dekaron SEA – Open Beta Na, Philippines!

September 5, 2008 · Comments

What’s up, mga nerds?

Hehehe…

Got your attention there, didn’t I?

ANYWAY, let me just run something quick to you guys, our avid readers here in TechBlog.ph. See, Dekaron SEA, (aka Dekaron Philippines, Dekaron Singapore, Dekaron Malaysia) is NOW on Open Beta.

Those of you who missed out on all the fun when Dekaron SEA was on Closed Beta, here’s your chance to experience and explore what has been hailed all over the world as “the most violent gaming experience you can have online.”

It’s so awesome, it’s the ONLY game that has to have a ratings advisory in its log-in page. A “For 17 Years Old and Above Only. Minors Cannot Play This Game.” warning appears briefly after you log-in. Hmmm…

Wait, did you just say Without Herpes, we would all be dead by now? (Click Image For Larger View)

Ok, so, Dekaron SEA is FREE for the Philippines, Singapore, and Malaysia. You need a mobiusgames account to play. However, if you’re in doubt as to whether or not you can play Dekaron SEA if you’re not playing within the mobiusgames territory of the Philippines, Singapore, and Malaysia, refer to this short FAQ.

Also,  mobiusgames has a lot of events and promos to keep everyone busy. There’s a 2x Drop and EXP rates in effect until the OBT ends in September 23.

Perhaps, Dekaron SEA owes some of its buzz to, eherm, eherm, gaming blogs like Hackenslash, Techblog.ph, MikeGotGame.com, Jam Online, MMOTaku, and GameShogun. Dekaron SEA is definitely this gaming season’s dark horse. With not much hype, it has steadily steamrolled into one of the most buzzed about game in recent years.

Read MikeGotGame.com’s series of “hands-on previews”, beginning with his article on Dekaron’s eyecandy for an interesting read.

Hmmm… how about you, guys? Have you tried Dekaron SEA? Got an opinion?

mobiusgames > promos, launches, and games! (oh, my!)

July 16, 2008 · Comments

With not much hoopla, mobiusgames made several announcements over the weekend. Turns out, their new casual mmo soccer game is now in its commercial run, and they’re running several promos for GONG!, Rakion, and MU Philippines. To quote the press release (courtesy of gameshogun.ws):

Starting this July, GONG! coins go up for sale on the mobiusonline.net website. Players can now convert their ePoints easily to GONG! coins simply by logging in to their mobiusgames accounts, and choosing the amount of GONG! coins they want to purchase.

For a short guide on shopping with your GONG! coins, the Katropa Konekt! blog has this entry (with peekchurs!).

Imo Ong, product manager for GONG!, also announced TWO (2!) exciting promos for “Gongsters” to take part of: The “Honor Roll” and the “Mission Olympics“.

And, taking a cue from “unlimited txting” services offered by local telcos, Rakion Chaos Force is now offering its “Power User Card” for as low as 15php A DAY! Dubbed as the “Rakion Rainy Days Promo“, “Rakionistas” (as Rakion gamers fondly refer to themselves) can now experience turbocharging their characters to the extreme… even if it’s just for a day.

I was talking to Kenny Ilagan, product manager for Rakion, about this recent promo and how this sounds PERFECT for gamers like me who can’t commit to the valid-for-a-month Power User Card, but would love to play Rakion for 48 straight hours during the weekend, and he was all humble about it. He said the mobiusgames GM’s (that’s Game Masters to you, chump) helped in coming up with this awesome offer. Great work, guys!

And over at the Lost Continent of MU Philippines, a needful things store opens its doors to Mutizens. The MU Cash Shop, which has been in operation for a couple of weeks, is starting to generate quite a buzz from players. MU Philippines has been subscription-based (or Pay 2 Play) ever since it first came to the Philippines, but now, with a “cash for items” store in-game, players can’t help but wonder if this is but the tip of the iceberg. Is MU going to go item-based? Hmmm…

Well, mobiusgames seem to be on a roll this year. After a brief period of silence, mobiusgames seems to be banging up quite a storm (hello, pardon the rainy season reference). Earlier, they already made an announcement about bringing a very, very mature MMORPG (Dekaron) to Southeast Asia, and now, with new promos, changes, and even new game titles, it looks like mobiusgames is on a warpath to let everyone know why it’s been here for 4 years now and they’re still playing strong.

Who needs a life when you can live one in-game?
