Dekaron SEA – Now On It’s 2nd Week of CBT
August 19, 2008 · Comments
Dekaron SEA is now on its second week of closed beta testing. For all of you n00bz out there who ain’t got the 733t haxxor skillz I do (for shiznits!), when a game goes into ‘closed beta testing’, it means the game goes live for a limited number of people in order for the publisher or developer to gather data prior to releasing the game publicly. It’s like your momma giving your friends free cookies before she starts her own catering shop. Or your sister sleeping with your friends before she turns into a bonafide hoe. Amazing what metaphors can do in this day and age.
Anyway, while you were busy getting your rocks off to your favorite yaoi, Dekaron SEA has been in closed beta for a week now. And you didn’t know, did ya?
Dekaron SEA started accepting registrations for closed beta testers as early as July 23 (last month), and gave out the activation codes Monday of last week, August 11. The CBT client has been available for download the day before the actual CBT began, but no one was able to log in until the virtual gates were open, and when they did, boy, it was a cyberstampede!

According to this press release on gameshogun.ws, registration for the closed beta testing of Dekaron is now open!
If you had been living under a rock (or online in a dedicated narutard forums board), then you probably don’t have an idea what the Dekaron buzz is all about. Well, fat chance, chumps, coz I aint telling you what Dekaron is all about. Suffice to say, that according to the whole wide world, it’s “the most violent gaming experience you can have online.” For more information, go to http://dekaron.mobiusgames.net.
Just for the yummy, bloody goodness, here are several gameplay captures prepared by yours truly:
(all videos are available in high quality.)
Above is a video of a “Vicious Summoner”. Anyone with the first name “Vicious” has got to be related to Chuck Norris. Or Malu Fernandez. The Vicious Summoner class is, well, vicious. As a Vicious Summoner, you get to summon several spirits and beasts which can aide you in battle. Shown in video are Regulus, that big electrocutin’ bitch dawg, and a Tarantula. If you have bladder control issues and you need to go to the toilet a lot, or if stuffing food down your throat’s kinda more like your thing, then the Vicious Summoner is the right class for you. Summon a beast while you excuse yourself to make a grilled sandwich is fine (but don’t be gone for too long coz there just might be a Segnale lurking around).

With not much hoopla, mobiusgames made several announcements over the weekend. Turns out, their new casual mmo soccer game is now in its commercial run, and they’re running several promos for GONG!, Rakion, and MU Philippines. To quote the press release (courtesy of gameshogun.ws):
Starting this July, GONG! coins go up for sale on the mobiusonline.net website. Players can now convert their ePoints easily to GONG! coins simply by logging in to their mobiusgames accounts, and choosing the amount of GONG! coins they want to purchase.
For a short guide on shopping with your GONG! coins, the Katropa Konekt! blog has this entry (with peekchurs!).
Imo Ong, product manager for GONG!, also announced TWO (2!) exciting promos for “Gongsters” to take part of: The “Honor Roll” and the “Mission Olympics“.
And, taking a cue from “unlimited txting” services offered by local telcos, Rakion Chaos Force is now offering its “Power User Card” for as low as 15php A DAY! Dubbed as the “Rakion Rainy Days Promo“, “Rakionistas” (as Rakion gamers fondly refer to themselves) can now experience turbocharging their characters to the extreme… even if it’s just for a day.
I was talking to Kenny Ilagan, product manager for Rakion, about this recent promo and how this sounds PERFECT for gamers like me who can’t commit to the valid-for-a-month Power User Card, but would love to play Rakion for 48 straight hours during the weekend, and he was all humble about it. He said the mobiusgames GM’s (that’s Game Masters to you, chump) helped in coming up with this awesome offer. Great work, guys!
And over at the Lost Continent of MU Philippines, a needful things store opens its doors to Mutizens. The MU Cash Shop, which has been in operation for a couple of weeks, is starting to generate quite a buzz from players. MU Philippines has been subscription-based (or Pay 2 Play) ever since it first came to the Philippines, but now, with a “cash for items” store in-game, players can’t help but wonder if this is but the tip of the iceberg. Is MU going to go item-based? Hmmm…
Well, mobiusgames seem to be on a roll this year. After a brief period of silence, mobiusgames seems to be banging up quite a storm (hello, pardon the rainy season reference). Earlier, they already made an announcement about bringing a very, very mature MMORPG (Dekaron) to Southeast Asia, and now, with new promos, changes, and even new game titles, it looks like mobiusgames is on a warpath to let everyone know why it’s been here for 4 years now and they’re still playing strong.
Who needs a life when you can live one in-game?
