Grander Human Technology But Natively Restricted

August 20, 2008 · Comments

We all have these unique and weird personal taste of our favorite breakfast meal, lunch express food, our own sober taste of meal that is. Some of us prefer spicy delicacies, others carve for juicy and sweet ones. Most of us hunger for our own personal taste at a mouthful level when it comes to personal food taste.

I was in in my elementary school, at 6th grade hearing the news that a failing satellite is currently falling and could probably fall into our area. I was so alarmed and confused then, thinking how could a man-made high-tech space wagon successfully launched away from earth’s gravitational force and ejected itself into earth’s atmosphere and suddenly failed to carefully hover down to earth’s human soil? And so, I skipped out that school day and immediately went back home without telling my teacher back then.

Simply speaking, technology had brought us far from humans have ever imagined. We have touched down our very own satellite which we called moon, we have explored planet Mars and we have even gone farther than Pluto and discovered more planets besides from the named 9 planets of our own solar system. Human technology had jumped us ahead of our time and decades, in a grander scale that is.

Yes, technology had done this, did that, been there, covered that, and um dit dat dot com. Plaks! What about our very own and little-minding personal grunchy taste like our favorite breakfast meals or lunch foods. When could our current technology bring our hunger to a higher level of satisfaction and convenience, than of eating and having a taste of our favorite food?

Google Adsense Website Went Down

July 20, 2008 · Comments

That’s right, you read it right. Internet web servers from the world’s most leading and most successful internet search engine giant could also go down. As I am posting this entry, Google Adsense website is currently down.

A long time ago, written from internet’s history, AOL and Yahoo websites went unavailable for a certain period of time. There were rumors that their websites were intruded by web hackers, which was restored immediately as their sites were being actively monitored on 24/7 time basis with redundant backup availability.

Let me tell you right now that Google Adsense websites are always being implemented with rock-solid high industry standard and well distributed web server setup and configurations. They do multipoint and geographical site clustering and server load balancing technology, mostly on their publicly available internet web servers. This approach makes sure that all our billion requests to browse and query their sites comes blazingly fast while not making their webservers loaded up and crumpled down due to multimillion user requests. Amazing it is.

So, why the issue of Google Adsense web site going down?

Uptime and monitoring are the key factors. If a person deals with his thousand-earning website monetized by Google Adsense technology, and not being able to login and monitor your earnings at that particular point of downtime by Google Adsense webserver could be personally alarming. Maybe to some, and could be to others. This is no different case of monitoring your stock trades online that could earns thousand bucks a few seconds time and could lose the same amount after a few minute of stock trading online. It is the personal inconvenience, that is where it goes down.

Shown below is temporary site unavailability of Google Adsense URL.

Google Adsense Site is Down

For the record, I am keeping this as my internet souvenir of a very rare instance of Google Adsense web server being down temporarily, ‘coz it doesn’t happen all the time.

So, take a real look at it, it is like a snow fall from a tropical country like Philippines.

All done.

I can see invisible YM! users, can you?

July 10, 2008 · 9 Comments

Chat messenger software has been around and is continuously growing as a major part of instant online communication medium around the web. Personally, I could not think of anybody who regularly goes to web but doesn’t go online with his chat messenger, I don’t even know anybody who does that.

One intriguing feature that most messenger client programs do offer is being online but invisible. That is, being hidden so nobody gets to see your online status, unless you modify your specific invisibility stealth feature among your chat users. As far as I can recall, as being a yahoo user for almost 15 years now, Yahoo! was one of the first to offer and implement a stealth invisibility feature into its Yahoo messenger client program, and the rest of the world follows.

Now, did you ever stop for a while and think about how would you be able to see those invincible users listed from your YM contact list.

Yes, I am able to see both online and invisible YM users at the same time. The feeling is funny but a little invasive.

Why?

Naturally, you get the chance to see who’s being invisible from their YM status period. For having invisibility brings another curtain shade of privacy and confidentiality status, atleast from Yahoo messenger program. Being hidden and invisible provides a feeling of convenience to some and comfort to others, its a mixed cases though.

But hey, this Gyache program makes YM user to see and pass through that invisibility curtain! How’s that scaring you? Million and million YM users will now get the chance see your invisible YM status and your invisible SMS status too. In fact, YM stealth feature is not even more 100% effective on hiding online YM privacy status.

Can you imagine that?

Well, all these has been possible using GyachE, a GPL’ed yahoo-like client chat messenger that supports most YM protocols and features a YM can offer. As of this time, it is not available on windows platform.

Lucky me, I can see you guys. :)

If you wish to install it on rpm-based linux distros like Centos or Fedora, hit my web. Alternatively, there are some windows-based external program that supports this feature. The thing is, you need to install YM plus that external program at the same time, not like how Gyache does the job.

Quicky post, have fun!

So you wanna play games, huh?

July 8, 2008 · Comments

This game is rated Adult and not for kids, you’ve been warned.

After eating a curly bunch double plated Italian-cooked spagetti poured along with hot-steamed spicy beef and peppered with sliced-n-chopped fresh carrots, I still have 3 times 10 minutes left before this lunch break ends.

And so, I continue my time inside the office thinking on how can I spend the remaining 30 minutes lunch break time without re-doing my break time activities that I had last week.

After thinkering for a while, I come up with an idea of getting back with an old analytical ($ucks) flash game that somehow blasts my little brown mathematical sticky brain cells, at least at my age now, and see if I could still solve a simple puzzle game.

Pearly Flash Game

If the image is so familiar to you, hit Alt + Left Arrow to ignore, or scroll down for more. The game rule is very simple as you can see with the below screen shot.

pearl flash game

Game Rule and HowTo

You have 12 pearls grouped in 3 rows. Each player turns allows you to pick up pearls to as much as you could carry but only from a single row of pearls. The last player who picks up the last remaining pearl loses the game. So, the objective of the game is to let your opponent picks up the last pearl. As you can see it is very elementary and simple. You can give it a try, and see from yourself how much turns you can afford to spend on beating down the old magician circus guy, :) .

Download and Game Play

I failed on inserting the said SWF game file from TBP, but you can start playing the game from here though.

Game Approach

Based from my today’s research, the game can be solved by mathematical backward induction. Who? Duh? Bull’s eye on X to close the page….

And after solving it, the young nice geek lady gave me the exact logical formula and approach, which is funny that I am not even aware of. Oh well, I think its luck.

Goodluck to you too and hope to hear your turns spent down below the comments. What are you waiting for, come and enjoy this addicting flash game!
