Here’s a list of qualifications that they are looking for the “Partner Account Manager” position:

  • 3 or more years total individual sales experience; advertising sales experience preferred.
  • Proven history of successfully attaining or exceeding aggressive goals.
  • Ability to work towards common goals in a multi-country sales environment; experience in MNCs preferred.

Version 2.6 “Tyner,” named for jazz pianist McCoy Tyner, contains a number of new features that make WordPress a more powerful CMS: you can now track changes to every post and page and easily post from wherever you are on the web, plus there are dozens of incremental improvements to the features introduced in version 2.5.” -Matt

Water Aqua Hydro Car! Pinoy, American, Japanese Car?

Amidst the worldwide gas crisis, a very innovative invention is underway and creating a huge buzz. Basically, the concept is to use water (H2O) to power the engine of a car. A filipino inventor, Engr. Daniel Dingel, has already been driving a car powered by water. For unknown reasons, his device has not been marketed yet. Are the americans working on such technology too? And now a japanese company, Genepax, has just recently (on June 12, 2008) test drived a Water Energy System-equipped electric vehicle. Soon they’ll be collaborating with manufacturers to mass produce it.

The following videos (1, 2, 3) present Engr. Dingel’s quest for a water-powered car while video 4 presents the test drive of Genepax with their WES equipped vehicle.

The 8th ASEAN Science and Technology Week

The Philippines through the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is hosting the 8th ASEAN Science and Technology Week (ASTW) celebration on July 1-11, 2008 in Manila. This event also coincides with the 50th anniversary of DOST and the country’s annual celebration of National Science and Technology Week (NSTW) with the theme “Making Science Work for You.”

It aims to promote science and technology (S&T) development in the region by creating greater awareness of S&T, developing an S&T culture, as well as providing a medium for participation and collaboration in regional S&T programs.

The series of activities for the 8th ASEAN Science and Technology Week has begun and today’s activity is a continuation of the S&T conferences that started yesterday. One of the topics to be tackled today is about Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and is outlined as follows:

  • ICT for Education
  • ICT for Health and Social Services
  • ICT for Environment
  • ICT for Governance
  • ICT for Business and Commerce

Other topics to be discussed are listed here.

The conferences seek to disseminate information on S&T developments and offer opportunities for interaction and collaboration among various stakeholders of S&T such as scientists, technologists, researchers, academicians, government workers, industry practitioners and the general public.

The participants will be very busy these coming days. There are still a lot of activities in store for them such as the following:

  • 2008 National Science and Technology Week , Philippines
  • ASEAN S&T Awards – Awarding Ceremonies
  • S&T Exhibition
  • ASEAN Youth Science Summit

7th Philippine Robotics Olympiad (PRO)

The 7th Philippine Robotics Olympiad (PRO) was launched last June 17, 2008 by FELTA Multi-Media Inc. & its implementing partner – Science Education Institute-Department of Science and Technology (SEI-DOST). Last year, the winners of the 6th PRO represented the country at the World Robot Olympiad 2007 held in Taipei, Taiwan and were able to win the Gold Medal during that time. And this year, the winners will again represent the Philippines and defend the championship at the World Robot Olympiad to be held in Yokohama, Japan on November 2008.

What is PRO?

The Philippine Robotics Olympiad is an annual science educational event that primarily aims to challenge the intellectual skills and critical thinking of elementary and high school students. It aims to support the Philippine’s aggressive campaign towards the promotion of science and technology interests among the youth, particularly, in Robotics as one of the new alternative media of effective learning. It also wants to offer new perspective and great opportunities in relation to the rising demands of Robotics in the local and international scene.

First Philippine Manufactured e-Jeepneys to Ply Commercial Routes in Makati City

The first electronic electric jeepneys made by a local manufacturer (Motor Vehicle Parts Manufacturers Association of the Philippines – MVPMAP) will soon be allowed to ply along the streets of Makati City particularly in Salcedo Village & Legazpi Village. The e-Jeepneys were initially presented to the public in July 2007 and after a year of pilot testing, they will be starting their regular operations on July 1, 2008.

The first locally manufactured electric jeepneys will make their debut in the country’s financial district next week, as the e-jeepneys begin their regular operations in Makati starting July 1.

  • Salcedo Village – from Dela Costa St. turn right to Makati Ave., right to Paseo De Roxas, right to Villar St., left to Leviste St, left to Rufino St., right to Ayala Ave. and right to Dela Costa St.
  • Legazpi Village – from Salcedo St. turn right to VA Rufino St., left to Adelantado St., left to Gamboa St., left to Salcedo St., left to Benavidez St., left to Paseo De Roxas Ave., right to Legazpi St., left to Dela Rosa St., and left to Salcedo St.
