Supreme Court website slow as a snail after issuance of TRO

August 4, 2008

The Supreme Court website is on a snail’s pace today, immediately after the tribunal issued a temporary restraining order on the signing of an agreement concerning ancestral domain of Filipinos in Southern Philippines.

In the meantime, journalists and other folks who wish to quickly download the TRO should go here.

If going to the site is a pain, wait till you attempt to download the decision containing the TRO in the “New Decisions and Resolutions” portion. It took me about twenty minutes to download the six-page PDF document. Try downloading it by clicking here.

Supreme Court spokesman Midas Marquez should ask the court’s hosting provider for help. This almost always happens when the court issues an important decision. When the court came out with the results of the most recent Bar exams, the main site crashed and the court had to make use of mirrors.

Otherwise, the court must get a “supremely better” hosting service provider.
