Sugbu Kini: Photo & Video Tagging Contest

In celebration of the Mandaue Business Month this August, the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the provincial government of Cebu are launching Sugbu Kini, a Photo & Video Tagging Contest.

Businessmen in Cebu are beginning to realize how powerful the web is and are now turning to it for aid in their campaigns. Thus, this year’s celebration of the Mandaue Business Month puts emphasis on technology. In fact, three of the events lined up for the celebration are technology-oriented, one of which is this contest.

The contest is open to everyone nationwide. I am well aware that only a few who stumble here are from Cebu, but let’s cast aside our regionalism to help promote the cities in the Philippines.

Rationale: There are millions of photos and videos about Cebu in thousands of websites and computers around the world. Most of these photos, however, are not properly tagged. Properly tagging the photo will enable the search engines to identify the photos and thus increase the ability of seekers to find the photos.
