Delicious, MyBlogLog get redesigned

Delicious and MyBlogLog have something more in common than being Web 2.0 services and being under the Yahoo! flagship: they both launched a redesign of their websites within the same week. Both keep to the original look and feel, but adding several enhancements and user experience improvements.

MyBlogLog redesigned last July 28, adding “shiny shadows and rounded edges”, but also improving on the user interface, like on the user’s profile page, they “have moved the most recent visitors module, up on top, not down below the fold” so that users can see who’s been visiting their profile quickly.

Now, Delicious 2.0 was launched on July 31, a long-awaited release, which includes a lot of changes, such as the move to delicious.com (due to “a zillion different confusions and misspellings of “del.icio.us” over the years”), new infrastructure to make the website faster, a search engine overhaul, and user interface improvements like “selectable detail levels and alphabetical sorting of bookmarks”.

Previously, I haven’t used either service for long or with any regularity, owing to my general perception about their clunkiness (not a good scientific basis, I know). But with their redesigns, I’m reevaluating my stance and might even stick around. Visit their respective blog posts (linked above) and let them know what you think in the comments!
